The two free design apps on this computer.

FreeCAD 1.1.4

What it is: Free 3D CAD (computer-aided design) software.
Use: A 3D model of the steel frame, and 2D shop drawings with measurements.
Open it: Use the app grid icon “FreeCAD”, or type freecad in a terminal.
Where it lives: ~/.local/opt/freecad. The AppImage was extracted because this computer does not have libfuse2, which AppImages need to run unextracted.

Plan

FreeCAD takes time to learn. The HTML drawings in this workspace are the main plans. FreeCAD is for a 3D check of the frame.

Sweet Home 3D 7.5

What it is: Free interior-design software with a 2D plan and a live 3D view.
Use: Try floor plans. Draw the inside of the trailer as one room at the inside size. Then drag in beds, a bench and a counter.
Open it: Use the app grid icon “Sweet Home 3D”, or type sweethome3d in a terminal.
Where it lives: ~/.local/opt/sweethome3d. It carries its own Java, so nothing else is needed.

Remove an app

Delete its folder in ~/.local/opt. Delete its launcher file in ~/.local/share/applications: freecad.desktop or sweethome3d.desktop. Delete the command link in ~/.local/bin.

Save your files

Put .FCStd and .sh3d files in the models/ folder of this workspace.
