What Joe did
- Bought an outdoor shower kit rather than building one from scratch.
- Built an aluminum enclosure to protect the shower’s nylon case and match the trailer trim.
- Cut three aluminum framework pieces, riveted the side pieces to the long top piece, and added a flip-up shroud.
- Planned the next major addition as the awning over the slide-out kitchen.

Tips and mistakes
- He bought the shower because he believed the kit’s quality and price were better than what he could match himself.
- The cover protects the nylon case from road and sun exposure.
For my build
- Nathan: Buying a finished component can preserve budget and time when a custom version adds little value.
- Nathan: Put a shower after core layout and off-grid power decisions, since Nathan’s floor plan differs.
